About Will
Will Berchtold is the founder of ReferralFinderX. Since 2022 he has worked at a Rhode Island community health center. He started in human resources recruiting, then managed health informatics projects, then moved to the referral desk itself as a referral specialist. Today he is a patient access specialist. ReferralFinderX grew out of that desk and its daily work.
Before community health, Will worked for McKesson as a contract merchandising and inventory quality control supervisor. He coordinated pharmacy and hospital inventory changeovers across the eastern United States, at sites including Harvard Vanguard, DeKalb Medical Center, the CDC and Novant Health. He also spent more than a decade in restaurants, first in kitchens and later as a sushi chef and restaurant manager. As manager he led a 20-seat restaurant’s expansion to 100 seats during the height of COVID.
He studied computer architecture and programming, and brings a lifelong interest in innovation and efficiency to the problems referral teams face every day. Will grew up in Louisiana and lives in Rhode Island with his husband and their two children.
