What’s new

What changed in ReferralFinderX, release by release, newest first. A new release comes out on the first Tuesday of each month, before clinics open; smaller fixes come out weekly and are listed inside the app. Security changes are on the Security page.

  1. ReferralFinderX 1.1 Avocet

Normalized town and cities list, closing clinics can be set ahead of time, and one standard list for insurance and specialties.

    New

    • Town or county on Search lists the official towns and counties. Each clinic can still set their own ‘areas’ which display above the official list in the drop-down. A town also finds the offices in its villages and neighborhoods.
    • Mark closed can be applied to a future date. Until that day the office stays in your results with a Closing note; on the day it closes by itself.
    • A What’s new card at the top of Guides lists each release, and the What’s new page on our website covers each monthly release.

    Improved

    • Insurance and specialty pickers use one standard list, so the same insurer or specialty always has the same name.
    • How do I…? opens over the page you are on, and Settings has a switch to turn it off.
    • Contributor badges sit just before each person’s name.
    • The guides have had general improvements, and now cover every change above.

  2. ReferralFinderX 1.0 Avocet

Our first named release: the whole of ReferralFinderX, redesigned from the referral desk up, with a guided tour, in-app guides, and the data hygiene engine checking update requests.

    New

    • A new design across every screen of the app and our website, built for daily use at the referral desk: dense, scannable results, and a light and dark theme that follows your computer’s setting.
    • A guided tour for every new user, shaped to their role, and How do I…? guides with pictures and short clips for each everyday job.
    • Search by specialty, place, the patient’s age, insurance and new-patient status, then narrow with tags: a subspecialty, a procedure, a condition, a test or a service. When a search finds nothing, each filter shows how many offices it would find.
    • See offices grouped by practice, or every office in one list. Each office shows its fax, phone and address in one place, with Copy fax and Copy summary.
    • Every office shows the day it was last checked.
    • Save the searches you repeat, under a name of your choosing.
    • Since 17 October, the data hygiene engine checks each Suggest a change and Add an office request for the clinics where it is switched on. The reviewer sees what it found for each field and can use the checked value in one click.
    • Contributors earn credit for the fixes they send, and a clinic’s Master can award bonus credit.

    Improved

    • Sign-in, the tour, Search and an office record are designed for phone screens as well as desktops.
